Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology

Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology was established in accordance with the Notice of the General Office of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the General Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government on the Issuance of the ‘Xi'an Municipal Government Institutional Reform Plan’ (Shaanxi [2009] No. 84). It operates as a municipal department listed under Xi'an Intellectual Property Office.

On January 31, 2019, the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology was reorganized as a working department of the Xi'an municipal government and was additionally listed under the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Foreign Experts and the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Hard Technology Industry Development.

西安市科学技术局是根据《中共陕西省委办公厅、陕西省人民政府办公厅关于印发〈西安市人民政府机构改革方案〉的通知》（陕办字〔2009〕84号）设立，为市政府组成部门，挂西安市知识产权局牌子。

2019年1月31日，重新组建市科学技术局，作为市政府工作部门，加挂市外国专家局、市硬科技产业发展局牌子。
