2025 6th International Conference on Intelligent Design Concludes Successfully at the Xi'an Innovation Design Center


On October 25th, the 2025 6th International Conference on Intelligent Design (ICID 2025) concluded successfully at the Xi'an Innovation Design Center. The conference was chaired by Professor Suihuai Yu, Vice President of the Xi'an Design Union and Professor/Doctoral Supervisor at Northwestern Polytechnical University.

The conference was guided by the Innovation Design Alliance of China. Supporters included the Xi'an Science and Technology Bureau and the Industrial Design Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.

Hosts were the Silk Road Innovation Industry Alliance, the Management Committee of Xi'an Beilin University-based Innovation Industrial District, the Science and Technology Bureau of Beilin District, Xi'an, and the Xi'an Design Union. It was jointly organized by the Xi'an Design Union and the AEIC Academic Exchange Information Center.

Co-organizers included 26 institutions such as the Institute of Modern Industrial Design of Zhejiang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xidian University, Chang'an University, and the Shaanxi Industrial Design Institution. The event attracted over 160 participants from domestic and international universities, enterprises, and design research institutes.

The conference featured invited experts and scholars from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, the Shaanxi Industrial Design Institution, and other domestic and international design fields, who shared their latest research fidings and practical experiences in innovative design and artificial intelligence.

Professor Lu Changde, the conference chair, expressed his warm congratulations on the successful conclusion of the conference.


He remarked that participants gathered due to "AI Empowering Innovative Design" and resonated with the era of "AI+." As China enters a new stage of "AI+" development, theory remains hollow without implementation, and practice is blind without direction. The synergy between the two is key to breaking through development bottlenecks, and this conference served as a vital link connecting the "theory-practice" pathway within industry, academia, and research.

"Today, we engaged in in-depth discussions on the integration challenges of AI and innovative design—exchanging cutting-edge technologies where AI shortens design cycles, and exploring implementation paths for human-AI collaborative design," Professor Lu stated.

He emphasized that the conference not only solidified the theoretical foundation for the deep integration of these two fields but also produced replicable and scalable practical solutions, truly demonstrating its practical value in contributing to the high-quality development of new productive forces.

"The core consensus we reached is clear and firm: AI is not an 'adversary' meant to replace designers, but a 'partner' that expands the boundaries of creativity. Modern design is evolving towards a system that integrates technology, humanities, business, and ecology," he declared.

He expressed hope that all parties would use the conference outcomes as a starting point to continuously promote technological transformation—enabling AI design models to be integrated faster into enterprise production processes and human-AI collaborative solutions to serve public scenarios sooner—jointly turning the "blueprint" of China's intelligent design into a "tangible reality."

       10月25日,第六届智能设计国际会议(2025 6th International Conference on Intelligent Design)在西安创新设计中心圆满召开。西安设计联合会副会长,西北工业大学教授、博导余隋怀主持大会。

       本次会议由中国创新设计产业战略联盟作为指导单位,西安市科技局、中国机械工程学会工业设计分会作为支持单位,丝绸之路创新设计产业联盟、西安市碑林环大学创新产业带管委会、西安市碑林区科技和工业信息化局、西安设计联合会作联合主办,西安设计联合会、AEIC学术交流中心作联合承办。浙江大学现代工业设计研究所、西安交通大学、西北工业大学、西安电子科技大学、长安大学、陕西省工业设计研究院等26家单位联合协办。来自国内外高校、企业、设计研究院所代表160余人参加了本次会议。
